I am addicted. I know that much.
From site to site, from blog to blog, from video to video on YouTube like a geeky-teen playin' World of Warcraft - I could stay for hours.
(for those who don't know, World of Warcraft - or WOW - is an online computer game where millions of users from around the world play in a virtual world together filled with endless quests - it's another life to some people)
And as I type that, I'm smilin', coz I'm one of the guys who always screw up my face, with a sneer and say: How can you WASTE your life playing hours of World of Warcraft?
The truth is, when I get home, aside from recording in the studio, or writing lyrics, or talking to you guys, I'm generally on the Internet. The TV is off for MOST of the day, and if I haven't got anything constructive to do, I'm YouTube hoppin' for almost an hour.
Just now, I literally went into the front room ("living room" for you extra people ...... Like we're dead elsewhere) lay on the sofa and had to breathe and try to think about nothing.
Nothing.
Just ......... nothing.
(Anyone ever done that?)
I felt like the overload of information just felt weird. I felt like saying:
"How can you WASTE your life watching an hour of YouTube?"
Well for one, It batters TV. I can find ANYTHING. This one time, (@ BandCamp) I'm watchin' a dog sleep-running on the floor, and the next I'm laughing at a Fresh Prince clip .... WHEN I want to!
My question is, what is being an Internetaholic doing to me? What is it doin' to EVERYONE?!?!
Can I still go and play football in the park with my friends, or am I tweeting when someone passes the ball to me? (I'm s**t at FBall by the way but it was the 1st example I found in the cranium)
Will I eventually not be able to FUNCTION without Google in my life, or am I humble enough to flick through an encyclopaedia?
If my phone doesn't have 3G, can I still have your number?
2011. What will we be like?
MySpace = EverySpace?
Facebook = Torsobook
YouTube = FasterThanNormalTrueHDWithFreeIceCreamAndFriedDumpling-Tube?
Help me out. I'm scared. Real talk.
